Events, Scholarships, and Contest Opportunities
Future Eagles ROTC Scholarship Program
Founded in 2006, the Gathering of Eagles Foundation has provided Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarships to deserving college students. The scholarship application window is open from JANUARY – MARCH annually. Applications submitted outside of this window will not be accepted. Eligible students must be in their freshman through junior years and enrolled in an Alabama AFROTC Detachment. AFROTC Scholarships winners compete through their local detachments, are chosen in coordination with local Detachment faculty through an essay application process, and are honored during the capstone GOE week with the Eagles. GOE week will take place in May.
The AFROTC scholarship includes a cash prize as well as travel expenses to attend the annual GOE Week events at Maxwell AFB, AL.
The scholarship winners receive much more than just funding. Our program unites Airpower heroes, leaders, and innovators with the next generation of Airpower advocates by creating an environment to share personal experiences, successes and failures to make a significant impact in the military.
Alabama AFROTC cadets, in their Freshman through Junior years, in good standing (as defined by the educational institution) enrolled in AS 200, AS 250, AS 300, and AS 350, as well as any cadet in good standing enrolled in the Marion Military Institute, may apply for the GOE AFROTC Scholarship program.
AFJROTC Scholarship Program
1 AFJROTC scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from a River Region high school. The scholarship application window is open from JANUARY – MARCH annually.
